Hi,

Im a solo traveller in Malta and Gozo the past 3 weeks. Ive seen a fair bit of Malta and most of Gozo! Places Id recommend: Sliema/Valletta as a base for getting around Malta. Transoort links qre excellent in both areas. Also for airport journey. I spent 2 weeks in Malta and 1 week on Gozo. My Malta favs are: Valletta for culture, eandering pretry streets, eating ,shopping, people watching. Sliema as a hub for transport but also neary St. Julians and Balluta is nice although glad I didnt stay there as its hectic. Sliema busy too but ferries go from there so you can go amywhere; Valletta/ 3 Cities / Comino etc. I enjoyed the Aquarium in Bugibba. For Malta beach/swim spots: Ghadira Bay in Mellieha (bigger), Balluta in St. Julians (smaller) Comino (Blue Lagoon) Marsaskala is apparently a good swim spot but I didnt visit. On Gozo: Marsalforn small beach is lovely, Ramla Bay nearby, Xlendi is very pretty (like Mforn) and Im sure therr are others I didnt get to see but theyre my favs. Gozo isndefinitely worth a visit. I stayed in Xaghrs for 3 nights and Marsalforn (Mforn) for 3 also. Id skip Xaghra. Very quiet not much to do bar 1 square wirh a few restaurants. Id stay at Marsalforn, pretty seaside spot lots of restaurants/cafes/few shops. And Xlendi on the opposite side of the island. Victoria in Gozo and citadel is lovely and very worth a visit. Try stay for a night or two. My fav of all is Mdina. I actuallt cancelled accomm elsewhere and stayed here 3 nighta instead. Its got an other worldly sacred feel to it and wandering the streets there is mesmerising day and night time! Definitely see Mdina and if you can stay at least 1 night. Itd an experience. It has Amalfi Coast vibes; italian influenced food, names of restaurants etc. Lovely atmosphere!
