Hello, good morning. Well, I stayed five days in Cancun and didn't really change a lot of money, they even accept the dollars without any problems. But almost everywhere you can use the card in restaurants, tours and stuff. What they don't accept cards are in places in the same town they prefer cash.
Whether I recommend you take dollars or change weights as you like, but not just as much as $60 for anything, depends on how many days you stay, it also influences.
But it always gives you the option to see if you can pay by card.
Greetings.

Thank you!! The problem is that in Argentina they charge you a tax (30%) for using card purchases abroad. The idea is to spend only the cash. I stay 14 days!!!

Hi, I'm Mexican. I do not live in the country, although when I travel I carry some national currency (Mexican pesos) to take the first transport or coffee; it always works. I suggest you change the pesos in Argentina, ask your bank if they can change a small amount, if you carry between 500 and 1000 Mexican pesos it's great. The rest, as the previous answer tells you, if you move with a card is a good option. It will also depend on the type of stay you have planned: leisure, work. I mean, in relation to the time you have. And to the city you go to Google the exchange houses or locate the banks in the area in case you have any "unforeseen". Greetings and enjoy!!!

Right, just bring the minimum in Mexican Pesos, and it's preferable for security to bring your credit card, OJO, don't drop the card to pay, always ask to take the terminal to your table, don't need to take your card to pay consumption, don't lose sight of it and don't type the PIN in front of people. Good luck.

Agustin, I didn't know you were getting that commission. I think it would be interesting if you consulted with the bank in Argentina. And for 14 days, I think it might make up for you to wear Visa or MasterCard or whatever you have in a prudential way. If you go to Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey or Cancun there are many exchange houses or banks that make change; but just as well go to your bank in Argentina first.
