Recommendations places that are impermissible in Havana and Varadero-Currency-Transport

Hello as you are, I travel to Cuba with my partner and I'd like recommendations from those places that are impermissible, we'll be four days in Havana and three days in the boathouse.
I'd also like to know if I should bring Dollars or Euros.
And whether it's advisable to rent a vehicle or better in public service.
We'll be staying at the National, I think it's close to a lot of attractions.
Thank you very much.

Hello Maria!!Just like you travel to Cuba at the end of this month with my partner, I'll also stay 4 days in Havana and 3 days in Varadero. We have the same doubts as to which places to visit and with the currency, however the renting of cars by friends who were already in Cuba did not recommend it, they assure us that with public transport (taxi and bus) we will have good service. A greeting and thank you.

Hi! USA currency not widely accepted. Cuban convertable pesos CUPs widely accepted. Cuban national pesos generally for
use by Cubans only. 1 CUC = 24
National pesos (=about $.04). Be
Very Careful when receiving change not to mistake nationals for CUP. $100.00 USD = about
80 CUPs at exchange counters.
Use common sense and never forget where you are while in Cuba. A very welcoming and
Loving country. Plenty to see.
Enjoy!!!!!

Hello!!! I've been there a lot of times and I'm carrying euros, because if you change dollars, they charge a tax of about 10%. Maybe if you pay for excursions by credit card. In Havana, I hired a local with a big car during the day and he took us out (with all the stops we could think of), and he was telling us the history of Cuba and different data of interest. On the first trip I stopped at the Tryp Habana Libre, near the Malecon and the second time at the Meliá Cohiba. Some friends stopped at the England hotel in the more economical old town and were well and best placed to visit different attractions.
In Varadero I stopped at the Sol Palmeras, Meliá Varadero and Meliá Las Americas. The first is the cheapest one with an excellent beach. The next two are better hotels. Meliá Las Americas Beach is spectacular. All three hotels are next to each other. Meliá Varadero has less beach than the other two. For transfers from Havana to Varadero, I specifically hired Book to Cuba at a very good price.

Hello!!!from Havana I recommend you visit Viñales, City Tour Habana, on the night Visitar cabaret Parisien (it is in the same Hotel), Fabrica de Arte, Cabaret Tropicana. In Varadero take the Catamaran to White Cay, from there you can take the excuse to Trinidad. If you rent a car it'll be much better you can schedule all the visits yourself, there's little traffic on the island.

I recommend the following program: City Tour Habana, Visitar Viñales, in the province of Pinar del Rio, at night you can go to the Parisien cabaret at the entrance of the Hotel or Tropicana. The car rental thing, I think it's the best you can do. You'll be on your own.
