I think that Rome would be a nice option. It's a very beautiful and old city. You can see amazing places and meet people from all over the world.

My honest and sincere advise, don't go to Italy! I have been to Rome, Milan and Florence and I got robbed and pick pocketed all 3 times. It's the worst place to visit in Europe! My advise go to Switzerland. It's safe and clean with good friendly people. Lucerne is about an hour train ride from Zurich is my all time favorite. This is if you like snow capped mountains. If you are a beach type person go to Casablanca, Morocco! Beautiful beaches and safe and the people are friendly too! Girls are plenty too!

I'd recommend Bern. Beautiful place within the Swiss Alps.

Italy

We hear a lot, really a lot, about robbery and pick pocketing in Italy. But, I don't agree with you much. We went to Italy 3 times and visited all major cities for like 25 days. We weren't robbed any time maybe because we take care of our holdings. We always put the wallet in the front pocket. All our important belongings at hotel are in the safe.
Same issue is with Barcelona. I went there and wasn't robbed because I took precautions.
So just go places and pay attention to your belongings.

If to speak about Europe and not the most touristy parts of it, I'd recommend to choose some part of the route along the Bay of Biscay. From La Rochelle via Bordeaux to the Spanish part of the Basque country (and maybe further to the Asturias). Lots of natural and cultural wonders, fantastic cuisine, nice people. And this area is pretty safe for solo travelers.

Japan

Japan/Singapore/Korea are good places for a solo traveling. Cities are safe, clean, and people are polite there.

Singapore
-

Hi Karen, I'm from Singapore and I'll recommend either Singapore or Korea for solo female travels especially if it's your first time. For Singapore, it's very safe here and even if you were out till late night alone, there are still people walking around and police here are pretty strict. So safety is pretty taken care of. Also, Singapore is a food haven with a hawker culture so good food per meal with different assortment can cost as little as USD5. I have been to Seoul alone and I felt extremely safe there too and there is plenty to explore over there. But a limitation is that not everyone there can speak English. Both places are easy to travel around using the trains/subway so you get to save on that as well.

Qatar

I usually travel alone. It depends on what type of travel and places you want to visit. Safest would be european countries. Best foodtrip is Asian countries specially South Korea. Not too pricy compare to Japan.

That's easy. Iceland - especially the southern coast. Getting around is a dream. The roads are clear and deserted. The climate is cool but not artic as some believe. The landscapes and natural wonders are spectacular and other-worldly. Flights are cheap (food not so much). Everyone speaks English and are friendly. Google maps and GPS work everywhere - even on top of a glacier in the middle of nowhere. And this time of year you might see the northern lights. I've been to five continents and Iceland stands out as one of my top 3 destinations of all time.

Stay away from Rome, hated the place, not nice people at all, lovely sights but that's where it stops, very unhelpful people to tourists, want your money ok ,Taxi drivers were bad mannered too. Naples ok, Sorrento was beautiful, myself and my wife travelled in September 2018 and wouldn't go back to Rome on a free all inclusive holiday disliked it so much. We had been on a beautiful 9 day cruise and thought we'd finish with 3days in Rome. Never again. Hotel was lovely, workers were Asian .

Rome might be better with someone. Can be sketchy. There's always someone trying to rip you off. I just returned from a solo 2 weeks N. Vietnam (Hanoi, Sapa, Ninh Binh), one week Tokyo. Great trip! I'm a guy, but a senior so probably have some of the same concerns about safety/vulnerability?

Egypt of course. The Egyptian people are really humble, kind and so much helpful. Also Egypt is the center of the arab world and the middle east so about the food you will have the option to taste all kinds of eastern and arab food which is unbelievably tasty and delicious. The most important thing is that the country here is amazingly cheap for you because the dollar equals 18 egyptian pounds so if we exclude the accommodation costs you can stay for a week like a queen for 300 max.... Like seriously a very luxurious week.

Hong Kong because you will find it easy to travel around with the cheap and convenient public transport (including metro, bus, tram, ferry, train, mini bus, taxi). You can also find many kinds of cuisine of different countries easily, and you will find Hong Kong authentic food (Cantonese style) is in such a great variety that it is impossible to try all even in few months! More importantly, Hong Kong is a safe city and you are not alone when walking in the street (except rural area) in midnight.

Romania

For Europe if feel you are reliable highly attentive driver owning a reliable car....but also by trains or postage yellow buses, I highly recommend the top concentrated magnifique panoramas by autoroute along all the highways 2, 13 crossing Lombardia from Milano, Monza to Switzerland but especially hundred areas 100 km around large lakes Como, Lugano, Locarno, Guardia, Bellizona or to the best of Swiss around Interlaken or Saint Moritz !
You will never get dissapointed, nor by car, bus or trains!
Then, when you get down on the walking side, just check Google along these areas to find amazing suspended bridges for top panoramas to get even more unforgettable sensations!
PS - do not forget to get your drone with you with good batteries , for your extreme selfies but only following the local rules for personal use always outside vilage areas !

Melbourne, Australia is my favourite city in the world! But if you'd like to travel around and cover lots of ground, hit up Eastern Europe - cheap, accessible, GREAT FOOD, culture, history, good people. You can bus around Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary etc. If you have to pick one Eastern European city though, definitely Budapest. Amazing food, great walking tours, culture, architecture, amazing bars etc.. and it's all so affordable.

The Dominican Republic is the best country in the world.

If you like the beaches, Puerto Plata and Punta Cana are the most beautiful in the world.

If you like cold mountains, you can go to Constance, where you can find temperatures below 0°.

The most delicious and healthy meal in the world. You will eat organic food and a variety of gourmets.

Dominican people are very gentle, kind and cheerful.

Like everywhere else in the world, the farther away from cities you are, the more honest, the more good and generous people are.

Technology is very modern, telecommunications is excellent. Wi-Fi network is available in most areas or cities.

Public and private transport: taxis, buses, planes and you can also rent cars or jeeps.

The price of accommodation, food and transport is very low.

You'll never forget a vacation in the Dominican Republic.
