It's a quiet place where you actually can't wait to come back after a full day of visiting and adventures. And I think this is telling you all. The dramatic black beach is the other place that calls to you. It's 2 minutes far from home and the feeling is that you have your own beach in the morning and in the evening. It's a fairy tale where I hope I will come back again. An absolutely special and authentic place. The house is a gem that takes you back to a calmer world. Such wonderful hosts. Our stay here was a true highlight of our trip. We first stayed in another cottage in Elduvík, but loved the village so much we moved over to this larger cottage and extended our stay another 3 days. The fairytale village of Elduvík is in a stunning location, and Danjal’s cottage occupies a prime position at the edge of it with breathtaking views of the ocean and the sheer rocky flank of neighboring Kalsoy island. You are located right at the start of a flat path leading to a gorge where we enjoyed cold plunges and watched a seal which loves to be sung to! Elduvik is the perfect base for day trips to all the highlights (Saksun, Tjornuvik, Gjogv, Kalsoy lighthouse, northern islands) and even hikes that start right from the village. The Bonus supermarket in Oyrarbakki is only 20 min. away, where you can find anything you want. Even popular hikes on Vagar were only 45 min. away. But we often didn't want to leave Elduvik! The cottage itself was stunning inside and out. The stonemasonry around the house is a work of art. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. We cooked several successful meals and we even made arrangements with the owner to cook for us one night (if he's available, I highly recommend it! The lamb and salmon were to die for.) The stunning views from the large windows in the living room and study look directly onto the ocean. Comfy beds, a golden wood interior that glows, it was a dream. We were only 2 people, but hope to return with friends and family. This large home could easily fit two families. The modern extension in the back has another kitchen, and a large room with a piano and an amazing sound system. We did yoga in there on a rainy day. Book Danjal's cottage and stay as long as you possibly can.

The house itself was beautiful and had a modern look/feel. The view from the living room and balcony were great. The shower was very nice.
