Cottages in Rantepao

A slice of paradise. Really beautiful secluded location with fantastic Torajan traditional house. The family were completely lovely and very accommodating.

I had a perfect trip in Toraja, and it mostly owes to the perfect hosts. They prepared everything with care, showed me the good restaurants, helped me planning the trip, and even took me to a funeral, where I met their bigger family who are all great people. The bed was comfy, and sleeping under the roof hearing the rain was soothing (I have phobia of rain but this time I was calm). The little place is well decorated, fits the vibe of the hosts couple. The moment I met them I knew I got to get a good trip, that’s how they made me feel. I arrived early and left late, but they always welcomed me and had me a place to rest.

The guest house was a wonderful gem in the middle of Rantepao, conveniently located near all the Tana Toraja points of interest. I had a traditional Torajan home all to myself and it felt so special. The place was extremely clean, had all I needed. It is part of a typical Torajan family's compound. Aldi, the host went out of his way to help and assist me with everything. He even waited for us until late at night (and I felt horrible about it, because it was like 1.30 AM when I arrived), as I was driving from Makasar and arrived later than expected. He organized a 2 day tour with Mr. Ino (also recommended), who showed me around the main sights at VERY reasonable cost. The place was spotless, comfortable, and felt like I was in a documentary. Absolutely recommended. As for Tana Toraja.... it is a unique corner of our world. Make sure you spend at least 2 days there to see everything. Ask for Ino's services.

I had the most wonderful stay at Lande Tiny. The host, Wila, was welcoming and truly charming. The experience felt more like staying with a friend than just booking a place. The bathroom and rooms were very clean, and the entire space had a homey atmosphere that made me wish I could stay longer. Unfortunately, I had a prearranged guided tour, so I could only stay for one night—but I would have happily extended my visit if I could. Thank you, Wila, for your kind hospitality. I hope to return someday.
