The cottage was homey and comfortable. The kitchenette was convenient for preparing lunches for the day before we went out on adventures. We saw horses and goats very close by through the big window, and we even saw northern lights our first night! The location was quiet but still convenient for touring the golden circle. If I ever make it back to Iceland, Áskot Cottages will be the first choice for places to stay.

Off the beaten path so perfect for seeing the Northern Lights (we didn't though, sadly). Cute little studio with lots of light through big windows. Kitchen could've used a couple more items to be fully functional, but was sufficient.

A snowstorm meant that we had to stay an extra night. The host was very accommodating and let us stay for free. He also checked up on us to make sure that we were okay. Great experience!! The hut has windows to all sides, so we also were able to see northern lights on both nights, which was a really cool experience.

Great location for exploring the Southern coast. Beautiful setting and very comfortable. Well maintained and very quiet. We had a large family group and space for everyone. Would highly recommend.

This place is amazing! Honestly the pictures do not do it justice. The place feels like you are the first one to live there since it was built. The kitchen is fully stocked, the bed is very comfortable, and bonus, the bathroom floor is heated. We could have stayed here for a week or longer. Add in very frendly cats and a barn to visit tons of horses, and it is basically a perfect place to be. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to see the Golden Circle but not stay in the capital.

If it’s available book it! We canceled our evening hike when we walked in because we wanted to spend as much time as we could in the villa. It was absolutely perfect!
