This is quite simply one of the most fantastic places I have ever stayed. Harold House has been restored to immaculate condition. When we arrived, we spent ages simply wandering around marvelling at these gorgeous, well-appointed rooms and all the fascinating heritage features and items. The location is very convenient in Reefton township, but also quiet. If you are visiting the West Coast, I highly recommend staying here; we wished we had booked longer—in terms of accommodation, it was the best of our entire road trip around the South Island.

    This place is like stepping back in time. The attention to detail preserving the heritage, together with the Mod cons they have nailed it. It was Comfy and cozy, and so interesting with trinkets and beautiful historic furniture throughout.

    A great little cosy cottage. Comfy beds, and warm cosy fire. Section is safe and very family suitable. The weather was great but if it’s not plenty of entertainment with games etc. So loved our stay thankyou for having us Jenny and Colin

    A lovely cosy and comfortable cottage. Woke to the sound of rain on the roof which was delightful. Good array of tea, real coffee and fresh milk provided Everything except for a drying rack to hang wet clothes when it is raining

    We loved the fireplace and how cosy the house was. The big garden was great for the kids, who also loved the games room. There is a playground about 2 minutes walk from the house. The fully equipped kitchen was brilliant. Oh and the views of the ranges from all sides of the house are stunning.

    A faboulous example of a heritage property, lovingly restored. so much memorabilia left in the home, for us to admire. Amazing deep bath and huge shower. Well equipped kitchen with a generous breakfast provided.
