The receptionists were the sweetest, we felt really welcome. The staff was really attentive and cared about us, going out of their way to make our stay great. The room was as described, the bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed the evening and morning swim at the pool, it was something magical! Our heartfelt compliments to the chef - we absolutely LOVED the food! In the morning, the cook prepared the breakfast from the coconut he harvested from the hotel's garden that same morning! The location is a bit remote, but also very calm and quiet. Walking around we could peek into the lives of common Sri Lankans. All in all, a great stay, recommended!

Very accommodating and friendly staff who provided an amazing breakfast and smooth check-in. The rooms were fit with everything I needed for a short stay and Leon provided good recommendations for onwards travel and other things to do in Negombo!

Was a delight to stay here, it is an oasis of calm, beautifully maintained garden, repleat with ponds and lotuses amidst verdent tropical plants. The main house is rather grande, attention to detail is the modus operandi. Rooms are tastefully decorated with comfortable beds, mosquito net, fan and AC, all the mod cons. The hosts are very welcoming and kind hearted, wanting to facilitate above and beyond. Can highly recommend.

We loved our stay here. The team led by Milan were kind friendly and courteous. Our room was extra large and the bed sublime. The pool area was cute and clean and a wonderful place to cool off. The gardens were lovely. We enjoyed being away from the chaos of Negombo town. Breakfast was exceptional. The very noisy air conditioner and ceiling fan were the only minor negatives.

Run by a local family, Villa Shade is a charming and peaceful property surrounded by green gardens, just 4 km from Negombo City. Bicycles are available for rent, while traditional Sri Lankan breakfast is served upon request at an extra cost. Villa Shade is a hidden gem! The property was beautiful with lovely tropical gardens and comfortable rooms (with a fabulous outdoor bathroom). Shiraj was a lovely host who cares deeply about the property and his guests. They have created a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere and even grow an all organic garden on the property! All of the staff was helpful and hospitable during our stay and accommodated a very early morning checkout time- we wished we had more nights to spend at this hotel.

Beautiful new villa with everything you need. Two rooms with big comfortable beds, AC, closets, where you can store your things, a living room with chairs and table and a new bathroom. Everything super clean and beautifully decorated. The host was very friendly, welcomed us with juice and cake, booked a taxi for us the next day to the airport and helped us with everything we needed. The villa had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen, cozy bedrooms, and a peaceful outdoor area. It was the ideal spot to unwind, with just the right mix of privacy and comfort. The staff was helpful and made sure our stay went smoothly from start to finish. If you’re looking for a relaxing escape with great amenities and a beautiful pool, I highly recommend Sun Villa. I’d definitely love to come back!
