The rooms are tastefully decorated, they are very clean, very comfy and all the basics you will need are all in the room for you. The staff were extremely nice and incredibly helpful, Asiri in particular was always ready to bring you what you need at a drop of a hat, and Prasadini was always very accommodating with our requests. They go out of their way to make sure you are settled in and comfortable. What's special id that a range of travellers can enjoy the stay here. I saw tourist couples, groups of young adults and also families come here and seem to have an equally good time, without ever getting in each others way. The place was very quiet and relaxed. Its a lovely place if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Especially for families, i cannot recommend this place enough, the location is very secure and rooms placed in such a way that you have a view of the pool and your kids if they are playing in it at all times. The pool is cleaned in the morning, the eating areas are clean and spacious, and you can even enjoy a 1 and a half hour boat ride if you feel like it, which the cottage will happily arrange for you.

Excellent airport pick-up service! I arrived very late at night and was extremely hungry, but the owner kindly ordered a delicious kottu and welcome beer for me. The breakfast the next morning was also great. The owner was incredibly friendly, helping me book taxis, arrange train tickets, and offering useful recommendations. Highly recommended!

Very accommodating and friendly staff who provided an amazing breakfast and smooth check-in. The rooms were fit with everything I needed for a short stay and Leon provided good recommendations for onwards travel and other things to do in Negombo!

Bicycles are available for rent, while traditional Sri Lankan breakfast is served upon request at an extra cost. Everything was just fantastic in Villa Shade. The peaceful location, the cleanliness and asthetics, the hospitality and most warm and welcoming service. We enjoyed every minute and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!
