Loma Wasi Alojamiento Rural Indígena en Cotacachi is located in Cotacachi and is a unique property featuring rural tourism. This is an authentic farm stay with an indigenous family in a small brick makers' village on the mountains. Mercedes and Mario and their children are very accommodating and generous in sharing their knowledge and their life on the farm. There was a sow with unbearably cute piglets residing right outside my window and I had the chance to join Mercedes in milking the cow in the morning. I'm very grateful for this short but wonderful experience.

Offering a restaurant, Hacienda La Merced Baja is located in Zuleta. Free WiFi access is available in this country house. The accommodation will provide you with a patio. This place is a real gem. This working farm is so beautiful and you can spend hours walking past their fields and see the cattle and the impressive spanish horses. Their cattle dogs are super friendly and one of them accompanied us on one of our walks in the farm for quite a while. You can also watch the cows being milked daily and of course taste that fresh milk at breakfast. The rooms and service was amazing. We felt like VIPs. Extremely personalized service, completely arranged around our wishes and schedule. The breakfasts and dinners were delicuous and with good portion sizes. There are not too many rooms in this farm, so if you are lucky like us, you get to fully enjoy the calm relaxing experience without any hustle or noise from other tourists. We basically had the dining room for ourselves. The Host lady Diana speaks English and gave us many tips about things to do in the area. Very friendly and accommodating. The room itself was clean and big and had a nice fireplace with a fire started for us every evening. They even put a warm water bottle into our bed during our dinner, so we would have warm feet at night. The bed was very comfortable too, with thermal blankets to keep us warm during a chilly night. I can highly recommend this place.
