"We enjoyed the stay in Sarajevo a lot, recommend to take a tour with local guide, thanks to whom we visited places we would otherwise miss. Wish our stay was longer to experience and see more, definitely a place I would like to come back to"
"Mostar is a jewel! It has a fascinating past with picturesque buildings and alleyways, as well as friendly locals and excellent restaurants. It had the best value for money of my entire trip. Furthermore, in all my travels I've never seen such emerald green water. Highly recommended!"
"Medugorje is a dear sweet and beautiful place to me, its become more like a second home to me over the years since, my first pilgrimage back in the summer of 2004.
I would highly recommend visiting if you always wanted to or have never been."
"I arrived in Banja Luka almost by chance, but it turned out to be a wonderful destination for anyone looking for a peaceful and very affordable holiday. The city has an interesting historic centre, a unique atmosphere and excellent food. I especially recommend trying the local ćevapi and Nektar beer.
The Vrbas is the true master of the city: a clean river surrounded by mountains, with places nearby for walking, swimming and even enjoying thermal waters. Banja Luka is easy to explore, feels very safe and is perfect for solo travellers, digital nomads and visitors who prefer calm places without crowds of tourists.
The city has mosques, Orthodox churches, lively cafés, traditional kafanas and also places to have a drink or go dancing. What I liked most was the relaxed rhythm of everyday life: people sit quietly, talk softly and seem in no hurry.
The local beer is called Nektar. Strangely enough, that name helped convince me to spend almost two months here. I am very glad I did, and I would happily return in the future."
"Neum is a small resort which has a comfortable, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The beaches are pleasant, there are good restaurants serving a wide selection at good value particularly fish. The views over the sea and to the nearby islands and mountains are spectacular. Neum is also well placed for visits to Dubrovnik, Mostar and the Kravice Waterfalls as well as other sites of Bosnia and the Croatian coast. Highly recommend."
"We stayed here as we wanted to stay close to Plitvice Lake as we were visiting there and the properties near Plitvice are all guest houses with stairs and we can't do stairs so we chose to stay in this town
Loved the food we had here at the restaurants
I had picked out a few but you can't really go wrong with any of them and price was good too
You can pay with Euros and they will give you money back in Bosnian Mark
Petrol stations and supermarkets take cards"
"Trebinje was one of the biggest surprises of our trip through the Balkans. It's a beautiful, peaceful town with a relaxed atmosphere, charming stone streets, and plenty of cafés and restaurants around the old town. Despite being close to Dubrovnik, it feels much more authentic and far less crowded.
The surrounding area is stunning, with crystal-clear rivers, vineyards, monasteries, and breathtaking viewpoints. Tvrdoš Monastery is definitely worth a visit, and the views from Hercegovačka Gračanica Monastery are spectacular, especially at sunset.
The locals were incredibly friendly and welcoming, prices were very reasonable, and we always felt safe. Trebinje is the perfect place to unwind while still having easy access to Bosnia, Montenegro, and Croatia. We would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine Balkan experience."
"First time visiting Jajce and it was really nice to do the walkthrough, eat and drink in the city center. The food was great and prices were affordable. It is a small city with a lot of things to see around the city. I would really recommend everyone to visit Pliva Lake."
"Amazing city. It's very easy to get around without a car, very walkable. The prices are even cheaper than in Sarajevo, and the nightlife is incredible. Amazing food and beautiful places to see. The saltwater lakes are a must!"
Ever a sight for sore eyes, Bosnia and Herzegovina tempts travellers from all over the world with its fusion of eastern and western cultures. Situated on the Balkan peninsula, its mountainous landscape makes it a hiking wonderland, filled with medieval castle ruins, rafting rivers and waterfalls Baščaršija (Old Town of Sarajevo) is a highlight of the country’s weave of cultures and heritage. As you stroll through the age-old streets, you’ll spot some of the city’s most famous landmarks, such as the Sebilj fountain and a myriad of mosques, bazaars and quaint cafés. Showcasing the force of nature, Bosnia and Herzegovina is a great spot for watersports like white-water rafting – practically a national pastime, and best enjoyed along the Neretva river. If that’s not got your adrenaline pushed to the limit, then you can also paraglide or scale waterfalls. The country offers a wide range of hotels, hostels, motels. Guesthouses (pansiona) can be found in a few other towns such as Jajce and Visoko.
