Weather Good, Food Good, Facilities Good Room Good. It was all Good.
Having a couple of bad experiences with my last 2 holidays as you can well imagine I was a little apprehensive, one going to Egypt, two going for an extended stay.
Well you should have seen the smile on my face when I walked into the reception of the Desert Rose Resort in Hurghada. Having heard about the very high standards of the Hotels and Resorts in this part of Egypt well you don't quite believe it till you see it for yourself.
So as you will have gathered by now I'm very happy! And it only got better. Check in was a breeze no problems what so ever. With a golf buggy ride to our Club room on the Beach all we needed now was Sun good food and time to take it all in.
Our Room was on the top floor of a 2 storey block about a kilometer from the main reception over looking the resorts beautiful Red Sea Lagoon. The Room was well used but spotlessly clean furniture and fittings all looked new, bathroom was a little tired but nothing to take the smile from my face.
Ok food! In my opinion the food was good and varied I preferred the Palm Restaurant which was the hub of all dinning at the Resort, this was buffet style with various food cooked to order changing every day. Lots of salads fruit and all things healthy also. My wife preferred the a La Carte Dinning and four further Restaurants were available for you to choose from I won't go in to all there names but you have a choice of Italian, Mexican, Lebanese and Fresh Sea Food. If for what ever reason this is not enough variety you can also pop in a taxi to Hurghada itself and try many of the restaurants that await your pleasure. Moby Dicks for a Camel steak perhaps.
Now Drinking. There are Beautiful bars all over the Resort all serving a wide range of cocktails, wines, beers and entertainment I'm quite sure you will find one that suits your taste without my input.
