Our stay at Lodge Du Chateau was absolutely fantastic, thanks to the incredible team who went above and beyond to make our trip special. 1. Above-and-Beyond Assistance:When our luggage was lost by the airline, Simon and Tesema helped us communicate with the airline and tracked it down. They even arranged for our luggage to be delivered to the hotel the next day—such a relief! 2. Delicious Breakfast with a View: The breakfast was amazing, with so many choices, and enjoying it on the beautiful rooftop terrace with views of Gonder was the perfect way to start each day. 3. Local Experiences & Great Company: Tesema took us on a guided walk to the local market, which was so much fun! We even had a wonderful dinner together—it felt like being with family. 4. Helpful Travel Tips: Tesema gave us great advice about exploring Gonder and Ethiopia, making our travels much smoother and more enjoyable. 5. A Comfortable & Welcoming Stay: The entire team made us feel at home. Their kindness and attentiveness truly made our stay unforgettable. 6. Safe & Wonderful Destination: Gonder is a safe and fascinating city to visit, and we can’t wait to return—especially to stay at Lodge Du Chateau again! Staff was excellent! Yohannaes, the manager, was excellent to work with. Thomas, our local guide, that we met through the hotel was outstanding. He showed us all the local rock churches and the local restaurants.

It is a beautiful hotel. The moment you enter the property you realize great efforts have been made to make it attractive. On booking, they offered to pick us from the airport.for a small cost. A person was waiting for us with our names at the tiny airport. Check in was fast. The room was huge with colorful decor. A large balcony with excellent views of the country side. The dining hall is very attractive with local furniture. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The guide associated with the hotel provided a great tour of the ancient churches. The hotel is located in walking distance to the churches. The climate is cool year round. A simple breakfast of homemade bread, honey and eggs accompanied by strong Ethiopian coffee is provided.

Family owned business! The owner and staff are exceptionally warm and will do everything to accommodate you and make your experience in Gondar amazing. I felt as if I was at a relative’s house. Also the location is very ideal if you come for Timket. Atse Tewodros square/Piassa is less than 10min walk. Timkete Bahr/Fasil Bath is a bajaj ride away. Fasil Gibi is a short ride away too. Debre Birhan Selassie is walking distance. Plenty of local fresh butcher restaurants and bars walking distance too.

The hotel offers breathtaking views to the vast valley below. Our room was spacious and impeccably clean. Amazing location, comfortable beds and friendly staff make Halle Hotel, a great place to stay in Lalibela.

Birhanu the receptionist was amazing. He was quick and ready to help all the time. He is thorough professional, kind and gentle.

The staff is very helpful and kind. The location is very close to the Hewn Churches site.

Room is clean though it’s old. You can go out to garden directly from all rooms. Location is great. Lots of shops and stores are around there. For example, coffee,grocery,souvenir and ATM. All staffs are kindness. When you go out and come back, they welcome with their smile.
