Fosshotel Mývatn is located next to Lake Mývatn, 6.8 km to the Mývatn Nature Baths. The hotels provides free WiFi and free private parking. Great, modern and comfortable hotel. Room was big, super clean and comfy. Breakfast was great! View from the hotel (front side) is beautiful. This location is great for exploring the north part of Iceland, around Myvatn lake and part of east part of the island.

The property was so nice. A great location! I wish we could’ve stayed 2 days there. I think there are lots of interesting hikes thru forests. We only had time to see a nearby waterfall. We saw northern light from the outdoor hot tubs.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable and gave off a Finnish log cabin vibes. There is ample parking space. Breakfast was also good, with decent vegetarian/vegan options. The room did get very warm at night, and we lowered the thermostat/opened the windows for some relief.

The receptionist who was there upon our arrival, shows us on the map what we can do because the weather conditions wasn’t good for the things that we have planed to do. The food in the restaurant was good and also the breakfast has many options to choose. The bed was comfortable and we have a huge window right across in order to see the sky. Till now it was the best hotel in Iceland!
