Facing Anse Vata Beach, Chateau Royal Beach Resort & Spa features a day spa with an indoor pool, a fitness center, 2 restaurants and 2 bars overlooking the lagoon. The hotel staff is very attentive and professional. The view from the room on the beach, from the seventh floor, was absolutely breathtaking. We took advantage of a fabulous sunset. The mornings from the balcony of the room, with a calm sea, are also quite extraordinary. The showers have a white plastic coating, quite thick, quite exceptional, which makes them super pleasant. It's not tile. I have never seen this in any other hotel in the world. The walls of the room have been recently repainted, the carpets are very clean and impeccable: no burnt cigarette butts, or traces of chewing gum, for example. We also appreciated the bottles of mineral water in the fridge, and the tea provided. The aquatonic course in the spa is a must. In short, the service and amenities of the hotel are quite up to the price of the room, and the reputation of the hotel.

Offering an outdoor pool, Hotel Tieti is located in Poindimié. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free private parking and free WiFi are available. We ate at the restaurant both nights we stayed at Tieti and were happy with the food on both occasions. The first night buffet was particularly good. We had a beach front bungalow which was very spacious and comfortable with a nice verandah looking onto the beach. Sound of the waves, very tranquil.

Located on the edge of the beach, the Beaurivage hotel is positioned on Nouméa's most popular promenade, the Roger Laroque promenade. The room was spacious, airy and great natural light. Being really close to the beach meant I could have an early morning swim easily. As we were in the back part of the hotel it was relatively quiet, considering Baies de Citrons is renowned for it's spirited nature. Staff were always helpful and friendly. My brother and I took our 82 year old mother to New Caledonia for a holiday and the staff ensured she had a lovely stay. She really felt looked after there. Easy walking distance to a number of cafes and restaurants, bars.

Le Passiflore is located in Koumac, 1.7 miles from Plage de Pandop, and features a terrace and a restaurant. What I liked about the hotel is the interaction with the local people. It offers local touch in the reception; the hotel had a lovely shop which visitors can buy locally sourced/crafted gifts. Common area had an inviting atmosphere. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful to recommend activities in Koumak.
