We drove to Ruhondo from Kigali for a weekend in mid-May. We took a wrong turn on the way, and our hosts at the retreat were so helpful directing us in. That level of superb hospitality continued throughout our entire visit. It’s a short boat ride to the island, but the retreat feels like a faraway paradise. You are immersed in the natural beauty of the island, surrounded by lush vegetation and peaceful blue waters. We loved exploring the island and taking a boat tour of the lake. I received an excellent massage in a lovely outdoor setting by the water. My favorite activity was relaxing on the terrace, snacking on warm peanuts and enjoying magnificent views of volcanic peaks in the distance. This is the perfect place to take morning coffee, read a book, or chat with other guests and our lovely hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and our cabin was clean and comfortable. We slept deeply at night. Our only regret was not staying a few extra dayss!

Nice breakfast served in your room if needed On leaving early morning, breakfast was prepared for me to take on my forward journey .

I loved that it was a women owned eco resort. No plastic water bottles. The staff was wonderful. Helped me beyond belief getting the tour I really wanted with a great guide. Good food and even an espresso machine!!!

The place is great. It seems brand new, it's a great value for money. The man taking care of it was so nice to make breakfast at 06.00 in order for us to go hiking on time. I would definitely recommend it. Only if you have your own car though. There is not really a reception, and the guy in charge didn't know we would come. He had to call the manager to verify.

Akagera Ihema lodges se nachází v destinaci Akagera a má zahradu, terasu, bar a bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách. We had an amazing time at Ihema Lodges! This place far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived until check-out we felt truly looked after. The rooms were clean and comfortable with nice details throughout. Enjoying dinner with a beautiful backdrop of the lake was a highlight in itself. The staff was very helpful and flexible and made preparing for our safari in Akagera National Park a breeze. We already miss the tranquility and calm of Ihema and will be sure to return soon. Big thank you to the staff for creating such a memorable stay!

Everything was amazing. We received an exceptional welcome, the food was healthy and delicious, and we got all the assistance we needed for touring. My kids loved the lodge and all the activities they experienced, including cruising on Lake Kivu, swimming, enjoying the fishermen experience, and of course, playing cards. We had an unforgettable time. The owners, Aicha and Ivan, are incredibly kind and caring. It was a wonderful vacation. Umurobyi is a peaceful and quiet place - with a great view, perfect for relaxing and unwinding.

Umutuzo Lodge Kivu Lake se nachází v destinaci Buhoro a nabízí venkovní bazén, zahradu, soukromou pláž a sdílený lounge. The location is spectacular and our rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable. The view from the room is mesmerizing. The staff are extremely helpful and responsive. The chef provided the most delicious menus we’ve had in Rwanda. Excellent meals!
