Located at the base of its namesake Mount Vaea, this family-run hotel is 3117 feet from Apia's town center. Vaea Hotel owners Lupe and Dean were gracious, friendly and informative hosts. They went above being hosts, they made you feel like part of their family rather than just a guest! Always smiling and happy. Breakfast was always fresh and great tasting! Farm fresh eggs done different ways, pancakes, toast, coconut jam, peanut butter, jams, marmalade, a fresh variety of fruit and alot of other good food, some being baked goodies such as coconut filled buns, so yummy! The Samoan coffee was an added bonus of tasting great. In the morning, the setting was peaceful and relaxing with the many flowers, plants and bushes with the birds singing. Dean and his son Shane made very good margaritas, a definate must try! A clean hotel with a lovely family owning and running it. Hotel architecture, environment and surroundings, staff (especially front house person - Paris), staff service, excellent accessibility for wheelchair users, good parking, pool and layout of all seating areas etc, Breakfast menu, Siva afi performances during Fiafia night, cleanliness of all areas of hotel, bar staff service and drinks (although a bit expensive), Barista coffee - perfectly made.
