This hotel is beautiful ! Nicely maintained. The room I had was large, clean, very nice bed, sitting area, and the decorating… gorgeous! I had many big windows to open for fresh mountain air and also window boxes with flowers. The bathroom was perfect.. nice tub/ shower with great water pressure. It was 7 minute walk to bus stop, and very close to train station too. The waterfall is basically right below the hotel. They have a beautiful restaurant with an outside deck/patio with scenic views and you can listen to the waterfall. There is a sitting/reading room in the hotel that is large and beautiful. Staff was very kind.

This Property needs a excellent review, I travel around the world quite frekvently so I have many things to compare to! reminds me like a Maladives in the mountians! Stuff very nice and welcoming,( dealt with Robert at the bar and Andrew the manager both were fantastic! Fooood absolutely awesome ( Deer Cheeks to die for), Half a board is pleanty for the stay! Just get a good bottle of Wine! ( They have great selections). Breakfest is kick ass! Almost no kids, and they allow dogs, which all dogs were very well handled! This is Ski-in- Ski-out place! Two clean pools, one large Whirpool, Cold plunge and 4 Saunas from 45c to 95c , Cave-bombastic with constant 40c and 4 large rest areas that people just sleep, read or just enjoying the view! All Saunas are Male-Female all naked, but no-one gives you a grief if you keep towel around. The place has a great magic, since experince in construction filed, I must say they spend some money on quality of the work and great maintenance inside out and even great garden! This is a place you must visit more then once, becase second time you have something to look foward to! Cheers from Chicago!

Pretty sure this was Wes Anderson’s inspiration. Amazingly curated property with a historic charm and stylings, paying homage to the Bad Gastein Royal haydays of the early 1900’s, but with all the modern comforts and cleanliness. The staff are amazing, as are the half board breakfast and dinners. We fell in love with this property, and can’t wait to come back. Like stepping into a time capsule to 100 years ago, but with comfy beds and an amazing spa. The saunas after skiing were such a hit. Can’t recommend a hotel more! We think in a historic town like bad Gastein, it makes no sense to stay at a super modern hotel - save those for the more modern cities, and revel in the beauty and architecture of Bad Gastein and Villa Excelsior
