Set in the heart of historical Ypres, 350 metres from the In Flanders Fields Museum and a 9-minute walk from the famous Menin Gate, the self-catering Huis Vandermersch offers an elegantly designed... Everything was excellent. The owner gave clear instructions about the keys and the parking before arrival (there is a parking permit available for 2hr use for street parking outside the house), and also left a bottle of wine and some Belgian chocolates for us. The apartment was beautiful and bright, huge, peaceful and spotless. We loved falling asleep with the huge windows open onto the private garden and the fresh air. The bathroom is modern but still fits into the character property really well. The location is perfect as it's just a short walk to the main square and Menin Gate. I wish we could have stayed longer as we were very happy at the house.

Breakfast was very good, great selection of foods. The room was beautiful, beds and pillows very comfortable. Great location, able to walk everywhere. Will definitely come back.
