Hotel Luzeiros São Luis is just a short walk from Ponta do Farol Beach in São Luis. It has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and bar in São Luís. The location: very safe to walk around, all taxi drivers knew well the address (and there is always a taxi stationed nearby, we travelled most times with Mr Auri, very attentive and careful driver), right at the seafront (but quite difficult to reach the beach), walking distance to excellent restaurants, delicatessen, pharmacy, coconut stand... The breakfast: great variaty and quality. The regional food was amazing. Just the breakfast make your stay worthy The swimming pool: we regretted not using it more. Good for chilling and for a few laps The staff: although very busy, always kind and efficient. Flávio Augusto upgraded us to a seaview room that was a really nice treat after travelling for 17h. The toiletries: lovely scents, great quality And they our suitcases when we went to Lençóis for a week

Located in the historic centre of São Luís, 800 metres from Mercado Central, this pousada offers accommodation equipped with TV. It features a garden and provides free WiFi in the reception area. Pousada Portas da Amazônia was a very charming place to stay, perfectly located for a visit to the historic center of São Luís. The building was full of historic character, with a lovely courtyard for breakfast. The air conditioning and bathroom facilities worked well, and everything was clean. The staff was helpful with booking a last-minute transfer to Barreirinhas and also offers bookings with tour agencies in Lençóis Maranhenses national park.
