The breakfast buffet has an excellent variety of regional meats, eggs, fruits, and breads. It’s only a short walk to the train station. They also offered the Ticino Card, which made access to public transportation easy! The hotel is family run. Nikoli was very helpful with information about the area. Would definitely stay here again!

The Romantik Hotel Castello Seeschloss is located on the lake-side promenade of Ascona, 300 metres from the centre. It offers historic-style rooms and free internet access. Absolutely perfect. If you want to feel welcomed and relaxed- that’s the place. The receptionist was really nice, the room was clean and comfortable. The pool, the garden, the restaurant all perfect. I highly recommend.

Right on the shore of Lake Lugano, this family-run 4-star hotel offers restaurants, free WiFi, and a south-facing outdoor pool with direct lake access. The centre of Lugano is a 10-minute walk away. Great facilities and location of hotel. Breakfast in the hotel was excellent with a huge variety. Room was very spacious and air conditioning was great.

The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. The room location and facilities were exceptional. I have to add that I booked a single room and therefore was moved to the neighboring Continental Park Hotel. So just something to take into account.
