Convento de San Benito is a restored convent, set in the pretty Galician fishing port of A Guarda. The spacious rooms all have a french balcony, a minibar and a safe. The location and ambiance of the hotel was stunning. I loved the museum and artifacts on display. Beautifully restored and perfectly clean.

This beautiful, historical hotel was built in the 1700s. The staff was warm and friendly and very helpful with directions and arranging transportation. The hotel was spotless and decorated with original furniture. However, the room furnishings were new and comfortable. We were in the top floor suite. It’s the only one on the floor and had a queen sized bed, trundle bed and chair that opened to a bed. The breakfast had fresh fruits, breads, cheeses, meats, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, fresh squeezed orange juice, cakes, and pastries. The location is excellent, less than 5 minutes to the town square where the community gathers in the evening. Many restaurants to choose from. Easy walking to historical sights, parks and trails. It’s located on the Camino. I recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Our party of 5 loved everything about this guesthouse! It's a family home, with just a handful of rooms and a friendly welcome. Our superior double included a gorgeous little terrace looking over the monastery and the sea. It's on the camino trail in the heart of the small town and a notable historic building in its own right. It also has a wonderful 'secret garden' for guests, overlooking the sea.
