The rooms were spacious, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom roomy and spotless. the common spaces and restaurants were very elegant yet warm and welcoming. The landscaping and layout of the property were beautiful.

Approaching Arthurstown we realised we were emersing ourselves in real Southern Ireland. The roads narrowed and became twister before we reached Arthurstown to be met with a stunning vista of the Waterford Harbour Estuary and views over Duncannon Fort and further afield to the Hook Lighthouse. This is located at the southern most tip of south east Ireland - a beautiful and windswept spot. Arthurstown is timeless and Marsh Mere Lodge the perfect accommodation. The property is immaculately clean and well mainatined and furnished with many interesting antiques and artifacts. The hosts have run Mere Marsh Lodge for many years and are long time residents of Arthurstown. They are exteremely welcoming making all guests feel immediately at ease and provide an excellent breakfeast.

Offering a shared lounge and sea view, Seashells B&B is set in Duncannon, a few steps from Duncannon Beach and 14 km from Hook Lighthouse. The bed and breakfast, set in a building dating from 2000, is 41 km from Carrigleade Golf Course and 300 metres from Duncannon Fort. The bed and breakfast has family rooms. Everything was perfect. The apartment has a fantastic view over the beach and the bay, and the owners were very kind and helpful with all kinds of advice. It made for a great start of our visit to Ireland.

The award-winning Dry Docks Bar has an extensive bar food menu, an outdoor decking area and live entertainment at the weekends. The setting was perfect so peaceful.
