Sulmona
A few steps from the main square in Sulmona, B&B Il Marchese del Grillo offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi. Housed in an 18th-century building, it features a panoramic terrace.
All rooms at the Marchese del Grillo come with a flat-screen satellite TV, elegant décor and wooden or terracotta floors. A private bathroom with shower is included in each.
Our stay at Il Marquese del Grillo was wonderful! Marta was very welcoming, and helpful. we needed to have COVID tests done before returning to the U. S., and she arranged for a doctor to come to the B&B to administer them. She also printed out some paperwork we needed. Breakfast was delicious, and served on her beautiful rooftop garden. Marta’s helper, Michelins was wonderful. We had such fun when she gave us a ride through town on the bus she drives!
Barisciano
Set in a Renaissance palace, La Loggia lies in the Medieval town of Barisciano, on the edge of Gran Sasso National Park. Its unique rooms are filled with antique furniture.
The Palazzo's rooms all feature exposed wooden beams with parquet or terracotta floors and views of the surrounding countryside. Their fully equipped bathrooms have colourful tiles and candles. Some rooms have a separate dining area with stone fireplace, others offers a four-poster bed.
The bed felt like it'll collapse in the middle of the night (but was still comfortable). The toilet was very uncomfortable to sit on. The room does not have air conditioning, we didn't mind because it was cold.
Santo Stefano di Sessanio
Sextantio Albergo Diffuso offers unique accommodation in the fortified medieval village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio, deep in the Abruzzo hillside, at 1250 metres a.s.l.
This spectacular hilltop village in the Gran Sasso National Park has been perfectly preserved. Rooms and junior suites are scattered in the original, period buildings.
A marvelous experience. Staying at this hotel is a trip in of itself. The restaurant for dinner is a must do not miss it.
Colledara

Each room features air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and SKY channels. The private bathroom has a shower and hairdryer. Some rooms offer a private balcony.
Large pretty property, though hard to tell from the outside because of the renovation work currently being done. Good-sized bedroom, comfortable bed, tasty and extensive breakfast, and an excellent and very well-priced restaurant. House wine was pretty good, as was the range of draft beers on tap. Food was a highlight of my stay, along with the helpful staff who provided lots of tips for hiking in the Grand Sasso area and provided detailed maps as well. Definitely a place to stay if you are visiting the Grand Sasso area.

A stunning B&B in the heart of our favourite town in Abruzzo! The historic architecture and stylish decor are very special. In addition, the property is in a perfect location and Marta was the perfect host :)
Lovely apartment in a great location two mins walk away from Santo Stefano centre but with the benefit of being able to park your car right outside. Stunning terrace/view
Little piece of heaven, gorgeous historic house in a lovely garden. So tranquil, the best night's sleep we have had in Abruzzo. Very generous breakfast, everything spotlessly clean and a well equipped kitchen. Thoughtful and professional host
DESTASU' is a new building in the medieval town of Castel del Monte. It is built in harmony with the town so you don't even realise it is new from the outside. The facilities are very modern and wonderfully comfortable. It is a small boutique hotel and wellness centre. Breakfast was delicious. Marco was a fabulous host
The interior design and forniture
We were very proud to be the first guests to stay at this lovely house. We were given a very warm and friendly welcome. The house is very spacious and absolutely immaculate and very well appointed. 5 star accommodation! The location is perfect for walking into the centre, about 20 minutes but it is as the time, very peaceful with a lovely view of the old town and mountains. Breakfast was really fresh and all made locally with great coffee and tea for us English.
The hosts are wonderful, kind, friendly and caring. They make you feel very welcome and relaxed. It is a unique place at a unique spot. Nature and space around the lovely village, stunning green mountains with snowy mountaintops, while birds are singing in the sun. Who needs more?
Lovely place, very authentic, with a very nice staff. Our room was decorated in a lovely way, and the furniture is stunning.
