Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). I thought this would be just a nice sleepover place and nothing more but it is so beautiful and has a very unique traditional feel that it made our stay on the island so much better. You even get free breakfast/dinner if you don't have time to eat outside and depart early in the morning/ don't manage to fetch a table in a reataurant in the evening because there is limited amount of restaurants that are open in late evening or early morning. The whole house is very authentic and the family that runs the place also offers a little souvenir shop with super cheap prices of local souvenirs, some even locally handmade. Thr staff is super nice and the xommom areas welcoming to spend the evenings in game/living room. Also had beautiful garden and amazing views from the rooms right on the sea

Just a 7-minute walk from Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. Beautiful. The most comfortable beds in the world. 2 different types of pillow options.

There are only a few rooms, which makes it super private and comfortable. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The rooms are spacious and super clean and comfortable. They even provide free coffee in the lobby. Location is superb, just 3min walking from the ferry port (but still super quiet and peaceful)

ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA is located in Miyajima’s Omotesando Avenue, a 5-minute walk from Itsukushima Shinto Shrine and Miyajima Pier. It's by far the best hotel experience we had in Japan, after being in 4-5 other cities. The lounge facing ocean with sunset view is amazing, and the rooftop bath in the night overlooking the bay and the Tori is intimate and relaxing, after the crowd is gone. The staff is extremely caring and offered personalized advice to visit and dine out. We were late for check-out because of some delay with the ropeway, but the staff really cared about our wellbeing. Cherry on top, beds in Japan are usually very hard but this hotel gave me the best sleep!

Renewed in 2013, Sakuraya offers affordable Japanese-style rooms with mountain or sea views. Free Wi-Fi is available at the public areas. Miyajima Ferry Terminal is a 3-minute walk away. Perfect location to explore Miyajima, the room was spacious and quite comfortable.

Reopened in April 2014 after renovations, Miyajima Morinoyado offers comfortable guest rooms and a spacious public bath. This is a gem! Traditional style and great value in a beautiful location. Meals were exceptional especially for being vegan which is hard to come by in Japan! The room was spacious and the onsen was wonderful and comfortable. Would happily stay again!
