Everything was great: The friendly and helpful staff, beautiful property, located directly by the beach, the stunning pool, the food and drink options, walkability to other restaurants and the village. My 8 day stay at Villa Velmarie was amazing and truly special! As woman traveling on my own, I felt very safe all the time. If you want to have a authentic Avuyeda experience and get to know Sri Lankan hospitality, this is definitely the place to go! The team of Villa Velmarie is just amazing, very friendly, helpful and always smiling. There are not many words needed to understand that the whole team cares with so much passion about all guests. There are only six room, so that you feel like becoming a member of Velmarie family. During my stay they were only three other guests, so that the atmosphere was just perfect and so nice! All treatments by my therapist Chaturani were excellent! The flower bath and the Shirodhare were my favorite treatments. The massages and oil treaments are wonderful as well. The cook prepares fresh and very delicious Sri Lankan foods, which she serves with a big smile. The manager tries to fulfill all wishes and helps to organise taxi rides and trips. The garden and pool area is very clear and beautiful, thanks to the great gardener who works all day. The cleaning lady provides fresh towels whenever you want and keeps everything nice and clean! The yoga lession is a perfect start of your day. Highly recommend to go there!

Nice spacious rooms with air conditioning, on suite bathroom and big veranda, lovely swimming pool. Really tasty food, had some amazing sea food fish and prawns for dinner. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Pool and garden excellent and a very decent breakfast. Helpful staff.

Taj Bentota Resort & Spa - is located in Sri Lanka's Galle District, offering breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. Pampering spa services, an outdoor pool and 5 dining options are provided. Staff were excellent, especially Sam and Terrance! But every member of staff was very attuned to your needs and never came off as overbearing which is a very skilful balance to pull off! We liked that you could shut the blinds for full privacy in the ensuite, some hotels don't allow complete privacy so it was appreciated that we had the option.
