The Galle Fort Hotel began life as an 18th Century Dutch villa and along the way has taken many guises from RAF barracks, post office, bakery, lapidary and in the recent past a pitch for the Fort’s... Most comfy bed of our whole trip! Food was amazing. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to assist with all requests.

Every dish is homemade by Uncle’s wife, and it truly tastes like a warm hug. • Fresh • Clean • Absolutely delicious • Full of variety • Prepared exactly how you want it — they actually ask your preferences and ensure everything is tailored for you. It didn’t feel like a meal we paid for… it felt like being fed by family who genuinely care for you. The value for money is unbelievable, but more than that, it’s the love that stands out. The Property – Green, Peaceful & Immaculate Camelia Dwelling is surrounded by greenery — a beautiful backyard, front yard, and nature all around. It is soothing, calming, and perfect for anyone who wants to relax. The house is spotless, extremely well maintained, and has a very homely charm. You can see the care and pride they put into keeping the place clean and comfortable.

The owner and her team do everything to make you feel comfortable. If you expect sound-proof rooms, thick sink-in carpets or whiskey-tasting: this is definitely not your accommodation. If you can appreciate nice, home-made (organic) food, being part of local nature and culture, well-equipped rooms (fan, no a/c) this hide-away could enrich body, soul and positive feelings about Sri Lanka.

I recently stayed at this charming homestay located within the historic Galle Fort, and it was an unforgettable experience. The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the fort, with easy access to its cobblestone streets, boutique shops, and delicious restaurants. However, the real highlight of this place is its stunning rooftop. The rooftop offers one of the breathtaking sunset views I’ve ever seen, specially you can enjoy lot of people hanging around on holidays with their family & friends , watch locals playing cricket , see people sitting enjoying the sun set on the wall & some even flying kites on the ramparts along with the sunset which is RARE. Every evening, I found myself eagerly heading up to watch the sky transform into a canvas of vibrant oranges, pinks, and purples as the sun dipped below the horizon. The panoramic view of the fort, the ocean, and the surrounding area made it feel like a private paradise. It’s the ideal spot to unwind with a cup of tea or a good book after a day of exploring. My room was beautiful & perfect with the Balcony & it had everything you want to make your stay comfortable. Comfy bed & water pressure was great. It had 2 large French windows which gives a bright light to the room. The homestay itself is cozy and well-maintained, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, providing helpful tips about the area. While breakfast isn’t included, there are plenty of fantastic cafes and eateries within walking distance, so it wasn’t an issue at all. If you’re looking for a peaceful and picturesque place to stay in Galle Fort, this homestay is an excellent choice. The rooftop alone is worth the stay, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone who loves a good sunset view. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip to Sri Lanka.

Srílanská Hotel Dunes Unawatuna je ekologický butikový hotel poblíž krásné pláže Unawatuna (100 metrů / 5 minut chůze). Naprosto profesionální přístup personálu i majitele, který byl na hotelu denně přítomny a stále se ujišťoval, jestli nám něco nechybí. V pokojích bylo úplně všechno potřebné vybavení- dokonce i zubní kartáček a pasta. Dole v hotelu byl barel s pitnou vodou, kde jsme si mohly kdykoliv doplnit pití. Ve skříni dole v lobby byly dokonce čisté osušky na pláž, plážové tašky a klobouky k půjčení zdarma.

Tento srílanský hotel v koloniálním stylu s výhledem na hradby se nachází pouhých 500 metrů od Národního muzea Galle. Nabízí zdarma Ve všech prostorách je dostupné Wi-Fi. I wish I could stay here longer! Not only is the accomodation clean, beautiful and in the best location, the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I’d highly recommend booking far in advance so you get the best room upstairs overlooking the ocean! The staff are very attentive and warm and made me feel at home (even when I was feeling quite homesick!) You’re also in the perfect location and walking distance to Galle Lighthouse and the main road with all sorts of cafes and trinket shops! As a female solo traveller this is the perfect stay and I’ve felt very safe the whole time
