The view from this hotel is so beautiful, and the man and woman working there were so kind to me and the other two people taking the slow boat. They helped me fill out my visa paperwork, and got up early to make sure the 3 of us had fresh coffee and toast before the journey. My only regret is not waking up early enough to go for a run along the lovely river!

The property is located 300 metres from the clock tower and 12 km from Wat Rong Khun. Chiang Rai Bus Station is only a 5-minute walk away. Chiang Rai International Airport is a 15-minute drive away. I liked everything about Grandma Kaew's house, except maybe the stairs, but it was expected.. The room was large and clean. Our host was extremely friendly. Tours could be booked onsite. Motorcycles could be rented onsite, and it was close to the bus to Chiang Mai.
