Boasting a splendid setting between mountains and sea, this charming Provençal style guesthouse is set in the historic town centre of Hermanus, overlooking the picturesque Old Harbour. Auberge Burgundy Hotel and Spa was a perfect choice for our short stay in Hermanus. My wife and I loved how the property felt like a quiet corner of Tuscany, with warm colours and a relaxed atmosphere. The location couldn’t have been better, right in the heart of town and close to the water. The pool was excellent, a real highlight, and the staff were attentive throughout our stay. It’s exactly the kind of boutique hotel that makes a quick getaway feel special.

The place was spotless and cozy, with a heated blanket/bed that made our stay extra comfortable. Although it was just a quick stop, the host went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She kindly arranged our dinner in advance, making a reservation and even placing the order before we arrived. Throughout, she was warm, attentive, and thoughtful, coordinating every detail seamlessly. What touched us most was that she even followed up after we checked out to ensure we reached our next destination safely. This kind of genuine care and service is rare, and it truly made us feel special. Highly recommend!

Saxon Lodge a bed & breakfast in Gansbaai, which is known as the ideal location for shark cage diving and whale watching. Great location. Very nice and helpful hosts! The sweetest dog

Great location, right next to the cliff path, and a good distance to the more dodgy areas of Hermanus. Staff were amazing - very helpful in suggestions and accommodating to requests. Breakfast was great. Rooms are comfortable and love the bamboo theme. Facilities are really nice, including the common areas and pool area. Parking is comfortably available.

Kapensis Guesthouse nabízí ubytování v africkém stylu v přírodní rezervaci nedaleko zálivu Pringle. The owners of the guesthouse were kind and accommodating. They asked us if we needed something from the shop when they went there to buy some things. When we required accessible rooms in the booking process, they contacted us and sent us some videos to make sure their accommodation was OK for us. The toilet and the shower/bathtub could be challenging for some wheelchair users but it worked for us. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and clean, with large windows that offered us stunning views. The whole facility has the aura of tranquility. If we stayed in the area for longer time, we would like to spend a day just at the guesthouse relaxing and enjoying the views. If you are there by car (which is the only option, I would say), Betty's Bay penguins are really close. The hosts told us about some other wheelchair accessible attractions, for example the Harold Porter Botanical Garden.

The property is tastefully decorated with exquisite art pieces strategically placed all around the property. The natural light that flows in from the transparent ceiling and the unexpected live piano performance in the morning what the highlight! We enjoyed the access to Netflix for a movie before bed time. Everything including kitchen appliances is good quality and condition. It was so convenient having the choice of a nearby restaurant for meals or staying in and cooking in the fully quipped kitchen. The location was perfect with less than 5min walk to the nearest supermarket and around 10min walk from the ocean and popular Hermanus Cliff path, no need for any transportation. We loved everything about our stay including our warm, friendly and welcoming hosts! We felt a bit sad to leave as we felt so at home. Will definitely be back soon.

Delightful hosts Vivianne and Jan came to Swellendam from the Netherlands 6 years ago to take over this quaint lodge. They’ve transformed the 1880’s Manor House into a welcoming place for guests to check in, hang out and have a cup of coffee or tea, play games, look at books, and gather for the wonderful made-to-order breakfast they serve. This hidden gem of a place, just off the highway (R60) and only minutes from the center of town, has only 6 rooms, is solar powered, and is set amongst a beautiful, lush garden. The room was lovely, had a large bathroom with both a shower and a tub, and had an outlet near a mirror in the bedroom so one can do their hair. (There are no electric outlets in bathrooms in South Africa.) This was the only time in our three weeks in South Africa, that we had a hair dryer. Along with your room key, you get a driveway gate opener. One needn’t worry about safety here. I wish we had planned more time to just hang out.
