I suggested my brother and sister in law, visiting from the USA, stay at the Winchester. It’s a grand dame, but not ostentatious. Very well situated, enjoyed a morning walk on the promenade. Always friendly and exceptionally helpful generally but also with with recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. Sandra and Charl went beyond their job description to assist me with my mobile phone so I had a reliable SIM card which enabled me to use Uber to get around the city. I’m a solo woman traveller in my 70’s and I explored the city and ate out at night at nearby restaurants feeling safe and comfortable at all times.
