We love the area. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of businesses open in April, but it is before tourist season, so is very peaceful. The Elkhorn Resort rate was excellent, but to be able to see everything in Riding Mountain and to enjoy the town's amenities, you need to be there after May long weekend. We did see a chestnut colored bear and five or six deer on our travels, but much of Riding Mountain was closed to vehicles...too early!
