Pornichet offers a good mix of beaches, a vast, wide sandy beach for swimming, sunbathing and watersports as well as a slightly wilder beach for rock pooling etc. There are sailing events at the Marina as well as a mixture of other events throughout the year. Ideally suited to visit Nantes, Vannes, Saint Nazaire.
Ideally suited to visit Nantes, Vannes, Saint Nazaire. The surrounding villages, nature reserves are well worth a visit. Terre De Sel (near Pradel/Guerande) is very interesting as are the towns of Batz-sur-Mer to Le Croisic along the peninsula.Guest review byMark KerslakeUnited Kingdom

We had a lovely stroll along the beach through the cooling shallows to Pornichet. It was busy there but we enjoyed a cold beer and watched the world go by. There is a market about 5 minutes walk away, twice a week. They had lovely fresh produce. Lovely host, who was very forgiving of my limited French! Such a calm few days.
