It was a perfect rural retreat.
It was a perfect rural retreat. We had a car and we’re able to visit many places of interest in under an hour. The weather was awful but we expected that as we stayed at the end of December and start of New Year and part of our hope for the mini-break was to snuggle up and stay cozy for a peaceful get away after the stress of Christmas. Additionally, as enthusiasts of narrow gauge railways we were able to drive a little way to visit a couple of different Raikways and Castles too. This stay was exactly what we hoped and we would happily have stayed longer, life permitting! We will consider returning for another break.Guest review byMandyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Fabulous area with lots to do.

Loved the people and the village/location. The room however was extremely basic, but clean. Staff were very helpful. The cottage was cosy and well-equipped with lots of thoughtful touches — plenty of plates and cutlery, hangers, an airer, and even dishwasher tablets provided. We really appreciated the complimentary soaps and shampoo, as well as the great selection of books and games. The window seating areas were especially lovely for relaxing and enjoying the views.
