Amazing location — just a short walk to the train station, city center, and scooter rentals. Breakfast was tasty, though a bit on the lighter side. The rooms were clean and cozy, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We felt very welcome during our stay!

Peaceful yet close to everything. Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and lovely decor. I was even given a bottle of Prosecco on arrival that I gave to the lovely Daniela who had to help me with my far too heavy luggage. No such generosity in much more expensive hotels I’ve stayed in where the service was also impersonal. London particularly

Location is spectacular — views of the tenure Bay of Napoli from Capri to Mt Vesuvius — from a breathtaking perch on the top of the sea-side cliffs. Our room view was one of the best we’ve ever had anywhere!! And the room is serene, super-clean, contemporary with a few sweet Italian vintage touches — like the bathroom sink! Perfect! Hotel is just a few minutes walk from the main pedestrian walkways of Sorrento and all the shops and restaurants but far enough away that there is absolutely no street noise to be heard. And the staff! They are all simply wonderful — engaged, professional, informed and helpful. And let’s not forget to mention the restaurant! Although we did not partake of the Michelin-starred evening dining, their breakfasts were absolutely top-notch and served with friendly, warm style by Valentina, Sasha and the rest of the group. Could not ask for a better experience.

FAQs about hotels in Sorrento

Colorful and Captivating

Overlooking the Bay of Naples and mount Vesuvius, Sorrento is a colorful town in Campania. According to legend, it was the land of the sirens that had the power to enchant with their singing.

The town of Sorrento has gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque architecture, and a wide variety of restaurants, shops and cafés. Built around the 11th century, the Romanesque Cathedral of Sorrento is the city’s most important landmark. The charming Bell Tower with the beautiful majolica clock is the first thing you notice.

The picturesque harbor of Marina Grande has some of the best restaurants in the city. Wander around during sunset and you'll see fishermen cleaning their nets. Marina Piccola is the place to catch a ferry to Capri, Amalfi and Naples.

Born in a garden of lemon and oranges, the traditional yellow liquor limoncello is a unique aperitif or digestive drink. The mediterranean climate of Sorrento helps in the production of this famous refreshment.

Naples International Airport is located 3 miles from the Capodichino district of Naples and about 18 miles from Sorrento. You can stay in one of the Sorrento hotels, B&Bs and pensions with Booking.com.

Sorrento is very easy to navigate, as there is one main tourist street right through the middle, with lots of other, smaller side streets leading off it to explore. Half way down this street is the main Piasso Tasso, the main square. At one end are both the bus and train station, where you can travel on to Pompeii, Vesuvius, Amalfi etc. without having to be fleeced by the tour companies. It's much more fun to do as the locals would! The two ports - Marina Piccolo and Marina grande - everything is within easy walking distance, but some steep clicks to climb coming back up, as you would expect in this rugged, stunning coastline. If you don't like crowds, bizz and bustle of tourist towns, then Sorrento isn't for you and it's more pricey than in UK for drinks and food. But there are some really lovely restaurants, artisan shops and quieter areas available if you care to look. And it's a great central spot for the biggies, such as Pompeii, Vesuvius, Capri, Positano and Amalfi, to name but a few iconic locations - all with the Italian suave and delicate shades that we know and love. Just a pity we tourists have to spoil them!

It was crowded , wall to wall , especially in the piazza and shops along . Ferries were crowded , interesting way of getting on , more like a scramble . Hard to find places as not very well sign posted eg the stairs to Marina and up again . Wherever you are going for a day trip from here go very early , eg Pompeii, Capri , Go to Anacapri instead it’s much nicer and good luck getting back down to Capri ! Ferry to Amalfi , Amalfi was absolutely crowded , the Church tour was great though . Positano had a nicer feel . The Eav trains to Sorrento were an interesting experience , although there were no problems to and from , phew, as I had read lots bad reviews was a real effort though , good to see Sorrento , though not sure I would have gone .

Weather in early September was great. temps in the high 20's. Some lovely architecture especially the many churches. Lovely back streets to explore. Can access steps or lift down to the ocean. Popular destination as there were crowds everywhere, 45 mins on train to pompeii.

The town was quiet and relaxed and pleasant to walk around.

The town was quiet and relaxed and pleasant to walk around. It was much smaller than anticipated and compared to other cities, it had limited tourist attractions. As seasoned Italian travellers and explorers, from Lake Garda to Calabria and everything in-between, there was nothing outstanding about the city and its views compared to its nearby neighbours of the towns of Amalfi and Ravello. Sadly, we were both somewhat underwhelmed.

Capri, smalfi and other surrounding areas were way better.

Capri, smalfi and other surrounding areas were way better. Better beaches and more character. The food was hugely over priced and awful. There were very few beaches which all had a charge of around 25 euro. They were crammed into and not pleasant as no sand. The only free beach was a tiny area with boats very near. There was green moss on the walk way into the water

We were only in Sorrento for one night.

We were only in Sorrento for one night. I wish we could have stayed longer. We explored the heart of the town with it's beautiful shops, bars and restaurants. We had an early evening meal in a busy outdoor restaurant called Monallisa. Sergio and his staff are amazing. The food and drinks were really lovely. We walked down the cliff steps to have a drink at one of the beach bars. We only ordered one drink but sat for about an hour taking in the sunset and atmosphere. Again the staff were so welcoming. Bringing us free snacks with a smile. No pressure to order anything else. We took the lif back up to save our legs. We will come back to Sorrento I hope as 1 night is definitely not enough. As we drove away on the bus the next morning we saw so much more. Till next time Sorrento 👋❤️

All staff so friendly, great at messaging on booking app in case you don’t have phone service. Excellent shuttle service that is really useful in Sorrento. Beautiful walk to the town for the way down. Easy restaurant option in the Joanna Park hotel, which is minute walk from the villa. Great after a long day of visiting other places on the Amalfi Coast!! They helped me print a boat ticket which was so helpful. They even gave me a packed breakfast to take with me on my last day. Best Limoncello spritz I had in Italy.

This was the best hotel we have stayed at in the past 6 weeks travelling through Turkey, Greece, and Italy. The simplicity of leaving our car with them for the 4 days we stayed and let the free shuttle bus from the hotel to take us to the centre of town and main train terminal was great. Staff was awesome and cleanliness was great too. Probably will never come back to Sorrento but I would highly recommend this hotel to any future travellers. Pat

This hotel was a great stay while in Sorrento on our tour of Italy. It was a little walk up the hill on the way out of Sorrento on the way to Sant Agata. The hotel was very clean and the pool and sun terrace were great. The breakfast and evening meals were also good As part of the holiday we had a car and we had to pay for parking ,however, it was only €10 per night. We stayed for two nights on our way further down south.
