Things to do in Mayrhofen

Penken Mountain
Action-packed Penken will have your adrenaline pumped as high as the altitude! The perfectly groomed slopes provide ideal conditions for skiers and snowboarders alike. Feeling competitive? Measure your speed on three different race courses! Paragliders can hurl themselves off two launch sites, and numerous mountain biking trails are available for all skill levels.
Hintertux Glacier
With year-round winter sports, you won’t be short of alpine activities on the slopes of Hintertux. Ride the gondola 3,250 metres up to the top of the glacier and onto the terrace for spectacular views over the Grossglockner, the Dolomites and even the Zugspitze. All snowed out? Explore the Spannagel Cave with a guided tour through the Central Alps’ largest rock cave system.
The Tuxer Valley
This vast valley offers skiing 365 days a year so you’re guaranteed some action on the slopes! Non-skiers need not despair – three lifts will take you to a height of 3,250 metres where a panorama platform offers breathtaking views. The valley cuts through the villages of Finkenberg and Lanersbacj, where you’ll find plenty of great walking routes.

Exceptional
Skiing is ok in Mayrhofen, absolutely stunning up on the glacier. You get a free bus/coach 1 min from hotel for about 20 mins up the hill on same lift pass. Nightlife is very lively, good fun. Shops are very good, whole resort is spotless, friendly and has everything you need.

Mayrhofen is a great gem of a ski resort - the locals are fantastic people and the town is great to walk around on an evening with prices being cheap compared to other ski resorts in France/Italy.

A beautiful town and plenty going on. Some of the big hotels are very grand and steeped in history. Everything is very clean and tidy. I will be going back in the not to distant future.
