Things to Do in Sankt Anton am Arlberg

In the lush setting of the Tirol and in the shadow of Riffler Mountain sits the picturesque village of Flirsch. Timber-framed houses, flower-filled meadows and lofty larch, pine and spruce trees give the illusion of a scene plucked straight from a story book. Trails wind their way through the forest and past calmly flowing streams.
Valluga Mountain
At a dizzying 2,800 metres above sea level, Valluga Mountain surveys the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps. More specifically, the Three-Thousander peaks, so-called for their sky-skimming altitude. Hop on a gondola to seek out views of the Swiss border from the the Valluga Restaurant. Fancy an adrenaline rush? Don your skis for an exhilarating trip downhill – best left to advanced skiers!
St Anton Ski Resort
Piles of powdery-perfect snow drape over Arlberg’s slopes, making its 300 km of runs – and 200 km of off-piste trails – a magnet for all ski fanatics. After the snow melts away, cable cars zoom into the mountain tops, leading to hiking and biking trails with unbeatable views of the Lechtal and Verwall Alps.

My favorite ski town in the world - after 15 years of ski trips here, I finally made it back in the summer. Just as beautiful with different outdoor activities...

Really lively atmosphere even in summer so must be fabulous in winter. Great meal at Niki's Weinbar opposite Hazienda on the Main Street, sitting outside (July).
