Hvad skal jeg lave i Canberra?

Australian War Memorial
A striking structure that has commemorated the fallen since the end of WWII, this isn’t just a memorial but acts as a national archive, museum and art gallery. The courtyard forms an impressive entrance, while the bronze inscriptions on the walls mark the life of every Australian who has lost their life in battle.
Lake Burley Griffin
An artificial lake planned as carefully as Canberra’s layout, Lake Burley Griffin is an ideal setting for a cycle or a stroll. Sailors take to the water on cruise boats or under their own steam, while canoeists pedal past the six islands. Back on dry land, landmarks including the National Gallery, National Library and Commonwealth Park keep all ages occupied.
Mount Ainslie Lookout
See all of Canberra sprawled out in front of you from Mount Ainslie’s pretty peak. Walk, bike or drive your way skywards for two kilometres from the Australian War Memorial, passing commemorative war statues as you go. The look-out aligns perfectly with sights including Anzac Parade, Lake Burley Griffin, Old Parliament House and New Parliament House.
Anzac Parade
Anzac Parade is the national capital’s major ceremonial avenue and is easily recognisable from Mt Ainslie lookout.Spanning the length of the Parade are 11 memorial sites dedicated to the many Australian and New Zealand soldiers who lost their lives in war. The Parade is set along the magnificent Land Axis which forms a key feature of Walter Burley Griffin’s original 1912 plan for Canberra. The Australian War Memorial is located at the northern end of the Parade. The Parade features red gravel and the mixed plantings of Australian blue gums and New Zealand Hebe species and links the Parliamentary Zone to the northernlake shore.
Anzac Parade
Old Parliament House
Old Parliament House was home to the Australian Federal Parliament from 1927, until it was replaced by the New Parliament House on Capital Hill in 1988. Canberra's Old Parliament House is located in central Canberra, just 3 km / 2 miles from the city centre, and was only ever intended as a temporary parliament house building. With regular guided tours lasting around one hour and self-guided tours with information sheets, attractions at the Old Parliament House include the Prime Ministers Office, the Corridors of Power, the House of Representatives Chamber and the National Portrait Gallery.
Parliament Drive
Parliament House
Canberra's famous New Parliament House is the seat of local government and is also one of the city's most recognisable landmarks. Situated in the central Capital Hill district of Canberra, New Parliament House has magnificent architecture, including 48 classical marble pillars which represent a eucalyptus forest, grand arches, stone carvings and many detailed features.
Capital Hill

Lawson Crescent
National Convention Centre Canberra
Located in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), the immediacy of the Centre to the Australian Government, decision makers and other institutions makes it an ideal place to meet, greet and inspire. Holding an event at the Centre is a wonderful opportunity to improve the visibility of your business or organisation.
31 Constitution Avenue
Telstra Tower

Anbefalinger til Canberra

Canberra lacked easy access to holiday brochures and most employees of different offices think referring to the internet is the way to go. People in general lack knowledge of their own city. What we did see we enjoyed.

Old Parliament House, The National Library, The War Memorial...these in particular remind us of our history and let the tourist see where we have come from.

Krigs Museum er et godt og spændende sted at starte Og Space Deep Centeret

Variety of restaurants to cater for local and international visitors.

Variety of food for any "fine dining" customers

There is so much to do you need a few days

Great food, wineries and nature.
