Things to Do in Knokke-Heist

Knokke Heist Seaside Promenade
At Knokke-Heist beach, the kids will be so busy collecting seashells that they’ll hardly notice they’re on a walk. The boardwalk has plenty of restaurants and shops, serving up ice cream or sugary Belgian waffles for a mid-walk treat. A variety of pedal cars are also available – the perfect thing for children with tired legs.
Natural Park Het Zwin
From mud flats to salt marshes, at Zwin Nature Park there’s lots of new areas to be discovered. Pull on your boots and explore the unusual tidal plain – or better yet, set out on the barefoot trail, where kids can splash and jump in the mud.
International Cartoon Festival
Unleash your inner child and take the whole family to Knokke-Heist’s International Cartoon Festival. Taking place every summer in the Lagunahal, you can easily spend hours exploring the artwork. Guaranteed to give you a grin so big your face hurts, you’ll enjoy it as much as the kids do!

Traveler's Reviews & Photos

I would have stayed longer if i could and if i wasn't short on time. I would definitely want to visit again some day and stay back and relax and enjoy the view with few beers, go for cycling, kayaking, surfing, partying etc. MUST VISIT PLACE

Very Good
A great place. Hostel lakeside paradise offers great facilities for water sports lovers. The beach is clean & the market is a nice one. For Muslims, finding halal food is a challenge.

Visiting in April it was cold and windy and very few bars and restaurants nearby or open. Beautiful beaches to enjoy if visiting in the summer and probably very lively

From all accounts in years gone by this was a fashionable seaside area; it still bustles in high summer but any former charm or character has been erased by over development. Rather dreary in out of season May.

It was a bit too quiet. Blankenberge has more shops, restaurants etc. However, there is the longest tram line in Europe so you can easily go down the coast to somewhere more interesting. We did have a good lunch in Knokke.
