Things to do in Paraty

Praia do Cepilho
Praia do Cepilho is a surfer’s dream. To see it first hand, you’ll need to pick up a Trindade boat tour from Paraty. You won’t be able to swim here, but it’s the perfect stop for a photo opp – snapping shots of the surfers as they ride the waves with expert flare.
Paraty Bay
The remote and unspoiled beaches around Paraty make for the perfect boat tour agenda. You’ll find secluded havens bordered by gorgeous greenery and clear blue waters, all just begging to be explored. Pick up a package trip or ask around to plan your own route – it’ll cost you a little more but for larger groups it could be worth it.
Comprida Island
At Comprida Island, acres of natural rainforest are bordered by sandy beaches and glittering water. With no shortage of places to drop anchor, Comprida is a favourite stop for most of the local boat tours – so you’ll have no problem reaching its shores. Sea-lovers will marvel at the tropical fish below the surface, while beach bums can chill out on the sand.
Praia da Lula Beach
Paraty boat trips usually find their way to beautiful Praia da Lula – drawn by the promise of crystal waters and bountiful snorkelling opportunities. Here, the jungle sprawls almost all the way to the turquoise sea, creating a secluded strip of untouched sand that’s perfect for sunbathing the day away.

Very good
The history, the architecture and also access to the islands make Paraty a great place to stay for 2-4 days. Nearby (within 30 minutes driving) you have mountains and forests.

Beautiful colonial town with an arty vibe especially in the historic part.Cobbled streets, restaurants, bars, artist's shops, coffe shops etc. Great thing is that you can wander around the cobbled streets without worrying about cars as they are not allowed.

History, colourful houses and boats. Food not great generally and over priced for what you get. A very long four hour drive from the Rio airport on uneven roads. But worth a visit.

An amazing coastal village with lots of charm. Beautiful water and everyone should spend the day on a boat there exploring the beaches and other areas. Unique shops and great restaurants. A must see in Brazil.

Recommendations for Paraty

We made friends with a local couple that worked in the 2 of the hostels there and they took us for an amazing meal at a restaurant on the beach that only opens 2 days a week. The food was to die for, the biggest prawns I've seen and they were stuffed with shrimps. We rolled out of there

Felt rested, relaxed, did not want to leave!! Watching the sunrise over the distant mountains recommended! Take a private boat trip to islands. Shop in the evening - more open & not so hot!

There are many beaches around Paraty and only found out on my last day that Trinidade was one to go to, but you need a car or go by local bus.

I think they do a good job; no trash was sen, a few trails needed some attention especially to the small bridges by replacing rotten planks

HIGHLY recommend going to a restaurant called Candeeiro. We had shrimp one night then fish another. Both incredible

There are really no brand name stores there, just Havianas which is a flip-flop store
