Things to do in Dijon

Fine Arts Museum
This historic hub of artistic treasures dates from 1787 and flaunts its royal setting in the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy. Medieval art forms the permanent exhibition, while temporary exhibitions focus on more recent pieces, with artists including Picasso, Monet and Courbet, alongside sculptures and drawings.
Notre-Dame Church of Dijon
With a striking façade showcasing Burgundian Gothic style, this 13th-century church features three rows of guarding gargoyles and a bell tower. Spot the symbol of Dijon, an owl, and pat it with your left hand for a touch of good luck. Indoors, the chapel conceals an 11th-century statue of the Virgin, one of the oldest of its kind in France.
Arquebuse Botanical Garden
Jardin Botanique de l’Arquebuse is a gorgeous garden and arboretum in the west of Dijon. Made in the traditional 19th century style, it is laid out in four large sections containing a beautiful rose garden, a section devoted to medicinal plants, plus many types of trees including chinnaberry, persimmon and maple. Free to enter, it is an unmissable place to breathe in the fresh air and enjoy nature.

Recommendations for Dijon

Wander round the town - but make sure you allow plenty of time to find your seat at the Auditorium as it has (after the Barbican in London) one of the most complicated entrances I have come across!

Take the Owl's trail - it is easy and fun to do, more information in the tourist centre (I received full information and the plan in my hotel).
