Loved it so much I could move there. Lunch in Barter Books is a must even if you don't read.Dinner at Lisburns was really good I would recommend it. Beaches fantastic for walks.

We got married so not much time to go exploring but will definitely be going back. Plenty of parking and easy to get around. Can’t wait to go back.

Alnwick is a pretty town with plenty to do, though more so in summer. We like Barter’s books and there is no shortage of supermarkets and a petrol station.

Recommendations for Alnwick

The garden with the poisonous plants - I just wish I had made notes so I would not have forgotten some of the fascinating information that we were being given. Definitely worth another visit, probably at a different time of the year.

Booking.com asked travellers...

How well restored were the castles in Alnwick?

We did not visit Alnwick Castle on this occasion. On a previous visit we enjoyed seeing the castle and the gardens - they lived up to their reputation.

A good place to go for a stroll on a fresh winter morning! Lovely view and very peaceful.

The stone archway that you pass through when driving towards the Market Place.

Having a nap in the Saddle!
