Things to do in Coventry

Coventry Transport Museum
Once a booming hub of the British transport industry, Coventry has memorialised its motoring past with an interactive museum. Packed with more than 340 vehicles and 200 bikes, you’ll spot a mixture of nostalgic vintage classics, modern favourites and one-of-a-kind concepts. Don’t miss the land speed record-breaking Thrust2 and ThrustSSC jet cars or the supersonic 4D simulator.
Coventry Cathedral
First established more than a thousand years ago, Coventry Cathedral has quite the tale to tell. Left to crumble after the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539, it rose again only to be destroyed by incendiary bombs during World War II. The decision was made not to rebuild, but to preserve the ruin alongside a new cathedral, resulting in the two structures you’ll see today.
Coombe Abbey Country Park
From peaceful woodland walks to children’s play areas, beautiful landscaped gardens and even an interactive visitor centre – there are acres of activities on offer at Coombe Abbey Country Park. Home to the UK’s largest heronry, it also boasts a spacious bird hide, which draws enthusiastic wildlife lovers from up and down the country.
Ricoh Arena
Home to Coventry City F.C. For the duration of the 2012 Olympics, the stadium will be names the City of Coventry Stadium and will host 12 football matches.

Me & a friend had a night out in cov. Town centre was just around the corner from the Village hotel where we stayed. Short taxi ride. Very very welcoming & helpful taxi drivers. We thought anyway. Clubs & bars all around different mixes for everyone’s choice.

I didn’t have enough time to travel around Coventry, but definitely good to visit the University of Warwick. Very nice and modern University. As for restaurants, we had difficulty to find a nice one.

Recommendations for Coventry

The lovely memorial park really took my breath away by it's shear size and tranquility. The memorials were breath taking and it was a true honour to have seen them.

Impressive old and new buildings standing together. Lots of memories of the war but emphasis on reconciliation.

The Cathedral. Easy access and less expensive for a visit to Leicester/Richard III.

Staying in Coombe abbey was the most relaxing part of my visit to Coventry

Frequent buses, all serving the city centre, and tourist attractions.

historical coventry, some thing for all locals to be proud of.

A great choice of shops to suit everyone.
