Things to Do in Eastbourne

Seven Sisters
This walking route will take you along the cliffs, across grass-carpeted limestone plateaus. The views over the Channel and along the cliff faces are well worth the climb up. Aim for the Golden Galleon pub to fuel up with a hearty lunch before heading back again.
Beachy Head
Beachy Head is well known as one of the top walking spots in the land – and it’s easy to see why. The range of routes available is amazing, from little strolls that take in historic sites to more challenging odysseys along the South Downs Hills, and everything in between. Whatever you pick, you’ll be guaranteed stunning natural panoramas and fresh sea air!
Eastbourne Pier
Eastbourne Pier is a classic starting point for walks up Beachy Head. This is where you don your jacket, double-check your maps, make sure your flask is full – and prepare yourself for the climb ahead! It’s just beautiful, lined with charming buildings that harken back to a golden age of British seaside resorts.
Congress Theatre
The Congress Theatre is a Grade II* listed, purpose built, modern theatre and conference venue with a seating capacity of 1,689, located in the town of Eastbourne, in the coastal region of East Sussex.

Great place to visit - lovely seafront, excellent shops and eateries. We had let lunch at Prezzo - great Christmas deal with a glass of prosecco! Theatres are well worth a visit and are all very close by.

Walks along the prom in both directions. Town and shops far enough away not to be on top but comfortable to walk. Same with cafes and restaurants. Nothing to complain about.

The shopping in Eastbourne is reasonable, it’s nice to stroll along the seafront and Pier. Good base for visiting other areas of Sussex.

Recommended in Eastbourne

The walks along the cliffs around Beachy Head are suitable for people of all ages as the ground is gently sloping with no steep bits. Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters is very interesting as you can see how the coastline has evolved over the years. You can walk as far as you can see if you are feeling energetic.

There is a good variety of shops for young and old. Young people do use Eastbourne as a shopping target, but it is particularly good for those of a certain age who would appreciate the flatness of the central area: no hills to negotiate.

Sitting on the beach watching the free Airborne long weekend. Beautiful surroundings, shops are good and restaurants are varied and good quality

Saw a pro-am production at the Hippodrome this time. Well produced and performed musical variety "There's Magic in the Music"

Eastbourne has a reputation for safety and cleanliness. The promenade is flat and is great for strolling or jogging.

The views from Beachy head are amazing
