Things to Do in Inveraray

Inveraray Castle
Inveraray Castle is a remarkable and unique piece of architecture incorporating Baroque, Palladian and Gothic. Featuring four imposing French influenced conical spires surmounting the stone castelated towers, this unmistakably Scottish Castle was the first of its size and type to be built (at the time of construction) in an extremely remote part of Scotland.

Assuming you mean Inverary town, we like it very much, an attractive place of great interest with much to see and do in and around it, particularly Crinan and Cruachan power station and the drive to them.

Inverary is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy Scotland and the local produce. I can recommend the spa at Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa and also the food at the George which was outstanding.

Rural location with nice walks and scenery. Ideal for a break with your partner. Had an amazing meal at Samphire and a walk to the lookout above the castle before we left. Views of loch fine were stunning

Visited the castle and the jail, both were good. Plenty of good walks but weather was rather wet. Plenty of eating places but not a lot after dinner is open.

Recommended in Inveraray

Small village on the shore of Loch Fyne....you can walk through the village, to the castle and along the loch if you choose...there's a walking trail up into the hills to a watchtower...unfortunately we did not have time to go on that one.

There were a few smaller shops with unique items in them and one of the Edinburgh Mills with lots of tartan and cashmere....on sale when we were there....friendly staff in all the shops.

The castle and grounds were lovely and since it's a "living" castle it was well restored.

It's such a small village there's not a crowd problem except maybe on the weekends.

Great day at fishing x did not catch anything

relaxing and inspiring
