Things to Do in Luton

Whipsnade Zoo
This zoo and safari park offers a slice of the Serengeti in the Bedfordshire countryside. Not only will you see exotic animals up close, you can practice your collective nouns as you move through the grounds: a pride of lions, a herd of elephants, a tower of giraffes, a – conspiracy of lemurs…? Well, they are rather mischievous when you traverse their walk-through enclosure.
St Albans
The history of St Albans goes back over 2,000 years. Originally a Celtic settlement, it later became the second city of Roman Britain. Today, salvaged brick from that era can still be seen in the iconic tower of St Albans Cathedral. Join hundreds of pilgrims here in June for a huge puppet procession that celebrates Britain’s first saint at the site of his shrine.
Woodside Animal Farm
Woodside is a working farm with a difference. Apart from the goats, pigs and hens you’d expect to meet, you’ll also come across a bearded-dragon lizard, Sulcata tortoise and boa constrictor. If you or the kids would rather pet furrier friends, there are rabbits, owls and llamas as well. Plus, the little ones will love the tractor rides around the farm.

Very Good
Just an overnight stay, at a hotel by the airport. We did travel through Luton on a bus, and I can't say that I was overly impress with the part of the town that we saw. It looked rather run down, and shabby, but then most towns/cities have areas like that.

There is little to commend Luton on a freezing late winter weekend, but I visited for reasons other than exploring the town. Plenty of places to eat. Did not use public transport. The shopping mall was fine if you like shopping.

Exceptional
The town has a good mix of different cultures and a great mix of restaurants and bars. With great transport links in and out of Luton and plenty of parking it is ideal to visit this town whether for business or leisure. Would come back again.
