My wife and I only live 5miles from stirling and usually go to stirling shopping this stay at the golden lion was a treat for my wife and we both enjoyed it. Stirling has a lot of history and there are many tourist attractions so I would definitely recommend it for tourists.

Ideal for a short break, it’s a historic site with some beautiful buildings. The town was a bit sleepy other than the weekend but it has plenty of pubs and restaurants. The people were all very warm and friendly.

Booking.com asked travelers...

Why do you recommend Stirling for food?

We have eaten in most establishments and are excellent food and value and again staff so helpful !!! The only thing feel the large weaterspoon will hurt the smaller eating areas which will be a real shame as these we places are what makes stirling unique!!!

The old part of Stirling is just beautiful with the Castle on the hill, the cobbled streets and the old historic buildings. Plus it has all the modern conveniences and is close enough to visit Edinburgh and still escape from the crowds

The Wallace Monument is a must visit, and only 30 minutes away is Castle Doune, where all of the castle scenes in Monty Python and the Holy Grail were filmed. Stirling Castle is also an excellent visit.

By far a castle visit. But it's closeness to Dunblane and Doune make it the centre for the surrounding attractions.

Every place we have been u feel u actually no the staff as very friendly hav never known a place like stirlimg

Evoked my imagination and stirred me to investigate the local history

Love everything about stirling

Italia Nostra, Baker Street

Really good
