Exceptional
Stirling is familiar to me though it is my first visit for many years. There are lots of historical places to visit including the castle and Wallace monument. It is an attractive place surrounded by hills. One thing that has not changed for the better is the one way system for the traffic.

Very Good
The old town is lovely-has one of the best castles in Scotland. It has good amenities. A good range of restaurants and bars. The Curly Coo is worth a visit if you are found of whisky-over 130 malts to try! The Indian Cottage is a good choice if you enjoy a curry!

Castle, old town, William Wallace Monument, views, proximity to hiking routes. Those things make it a very good location to venture out for day trips in various directions.

It's kind of small and seems to be all about the castle and the famous battle of William wallace. But nevertheless charming and worth a stop when travelling

Booking.com asked travelers...

How is tourism changing Stirling?

There is no tourism in Stirling because so it seems, the city does not provide any attractions but the castle for which there is no need to stay an overnight in Stirling. Pitty. A few years ago we had a wonderful Old Jail tour (closed), wonderful restaurant - in fact the best I ever eaten (Olivia - also closed), and a walk thru old town window shopping and buying the next day. Today, you have a huge shopping mall instead, and lots of foreign shops downtown (from Kebab to China-Sh*t) - for this, you do not need Stirling.

Why do you recommend Stirling for food?

We have eaten in most establishments and are excellent food and value and again staff so helpful !!! The only thing feel the large weaterspoon will hurt the smaller eating areas which will be a real shame as these we places are what makes stirling unique!!!

The old part of Stirling is just beautiful with the Castle on the hill, the cobbled streets and the old historic buildings. Plus it has all the modern conveniences and is close enough to visit Edinburgh and still escape from the crowds

The Wallace Monument is a must visit, and only 30 minutes away is Castle Doune, where all of the castle scenes in Monty Python and the Holy Grail were filmed. Stirling Castle is also an excellent visit.

Every place we have been u feel u actually no the staff as very friendly hav never known a place like stirlimg

Evoked my imagination and stirred me to investigate the local history

Italia Nostra, Baker Street

something for everyone.

Really good
