Things to Do in Pécs

Pécs Cathedral
Dating back to the 11th century, this Neo-Romanesque Cathedral is most noticeable for its four 60-metre towers which dominate the Pécs skyline. The building spent some time as a Turkish mosque in the 16th century, before being reclaimed by Christianity – a sign of Hungary’s diverse cultural history. The interior features breathtaking frescoes, an awe-inspiring arch and organ with over 6,000 pipes.
Zsolnay Cultural Quarter
Built on the site of the original Zsolnay family porcelain factory, the Cultural Quarter is a designated 'Hungaricum' – a unique Hungarian attraction. Perfect for a leisurely stroll, the revived area includes various museums, a digital planetarium and a functioning factory where you can witness the legendary porcelain being made first hand.
Király Street
Famed for being the city’s most beautiful street, this picturesque path is sprinkled with fine examples of Baroque architecture. The street is also noted for its Art Nouveau-style Palatinus Hotel, which dates back to 1914. Choose from trendy shops, outdoor cafés and restaurants which are dotted along the way.

Very Good
Some dodgy looking streets at first but super nice restaurant and bar streets when you find them in Central. They are around the cathedral. Central of the city is booming with students and young professionals. Very lively

Understandable for non so touristic town, most of the sightseeing and worth to see attractions were closed since we visited it in Jan. Very few restaurants with traditional Hungary foods, however, plenty of Balkan cousine. What you must visit is Bistro Balkan.

Pécs is a lovely city. There are lots of lovely pubs and restaurants which are also very good value. The architecture in the city is beautiful and there are plenty of museums and shops. It’s also near to the hills and forest for nice walks.

Not a huge amount. There are smaller shops that sell some interesting bits and pieces in town. The shopping centre caters mainly for big name clothes shops.

Can see pecs very easily in a day. The main squares, sights and churches can be done in a few hours easily.

Really open and expansive inside with a very different and impressive exterior. Great patterning inside.

mix of cultures, history, great art, beautiful old city, lots of cafes etc

One of the outstanding historical places of Southern Hungary
