Things to do in Daegu

Apsan Park
Set in the shadow of the 600 metre-high Aspan Mountain, this park offers a range of outdoor activities to keep everyone entertained. You can learn a new skill such as archery or horse riding, or simply wander along one of the walking trails of varying degrees of difficulty, to soak up the impressive scenery.
Daegu Arboretum
Built on a landfill site, this arboretum boasts an impressive array of plants, flowers and trees, making for a great day out. There is no entrance fee, and visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the well-maintained gardens. Autumn is a particularly beautiful time to visit, when all the leaves begin changing colour.
Donghwasa Temple
This Buddhist temple in northern Daegu is named after the beautiful pink paulownia blossoms that surround it. The original temple was established in 493 AD by monk Geuk Dal, but it's been rebuilt many times since. Most come for the impressive view of Palgong Mountain, but the more adventurous might like to enrol in a 'temple stay' and try out life as a Buddhist monk.

Exceptional
I've lived there for years and the city is great. It is big and small at the same time. Not a lot of touristy things to do there but a great place to visit nonetheless. The people are friendlier than in Seoul.

Very good
Daegu is a good destination for a weekend getaway from Seoul. A city full of delicious food (e.g. Seomun night market), shopping possibilities and friendly people. Fewer people, different vibe than Seoul. Recommended place to visit.

Exceptional
Daegu was not what i had expected. There are a lot of things to be seen and enjoyed. Most of the locals are unable to speak English but some are willing to try by using body language to communicate. The landmarks and signboards have English translation so visitor will find that helpful.
