Things to Do in Brooklyn

Coney Island
Nostalgia reigns supreme in Brooklyn’s most popular seaside spot. In its early 20th-century heyday, Coney Island’s bright lights and funfairs packed in millions of visitors each summer. Today the seafront is still lined with arcades and attractions, from the rides of Luna Park to the New York Aquarium.
Brooklyn Bridge
Connecting downtown Manhattan to Brooklyn, this landmark structure has been an NYC icon since 1883. For an unforgettable evening, take the subway to the Brooklyn side before sunset. After exploring the pretty waterfront park, stroll back across the water as the lights of Manhattan shimmer into life.
Prospect Park
This sprawling park is a focal point for all Brooklyn life. Cyclists and runners rub shoulders with picnicking families in its shady groves and open meadows. Adventurous types can scramble through The Ravine’s rugged woodland, while pretty ponds provide spots to paddle, row or fish. And if all that sounds too energetic, simply spread out a blanket and snooze in the sun.

We stayed in the bay ridge area of Brooklyn. It was ok nothing to brag about. Lots of shops for shopping easy to travel through. We visisted a few hookah lounges, this area is loaded with them.

There is so much to explore in Brooklyn. You can do some much without having to travel back into NYC. I wish we'd stayed longer.

It's where I grew up so I love it naturally. The diversity is amazing, restaurants are incredible and the overall beauty is wonderful, however it's seemingly way to crowded and way to expensive..

Recommended in Brooklyn

Everything was well-priced. I didn't find the Information Centre helpful at all. The people were friendly and helpful in Brooklyn, but not in Manhattan or in the area of Grand Central Station. New York, you will have to think of seating for the weary walking tourists and more public bathrooms at places of interest. That would be advantageous to the whole travel experience. Thank you.

Bodegas, delis, numerous mom and pop stores with very fair prices compared to Manhattan which is 10-15 minutes away, and national chains dot most neighborhoods in Brooklyn, which is perfect for being on a budget.

There's so many parts of Brooklyn to experience. This section has many subway lines that connect to South Brooklyn and you could spend 7 days there and not see every crevice of the borough.

Know where you're going! Find a few main streets to get your bearing and use them to help guide you. Don't be afraid to ask local traffic cops for directions, they're all very friendly.
